I finally finished the evalution for the poster, magazine and poster question. This means i've finally finished the evaluation for both the questions I'm doing, and that means I can now edit a video so I can speak this script out and edit clips and images behind the audio which relates to what I'm saying. This'll help me make a creative evaluation through these methods, this will help make sure that me and Jai get the marks we want to in this evaluation.
However since me and Jai are already doing this for the first question, it's showing that doing the other questions are going to be quite difficult and since its just me and him editing 4 questions, it could take quite a while to complete this, meaning we need to make a dent in this evaluation soon.
We have begun editing together the first part of our evaluation video, which is our first question. We're including all the necessary video clips and pictures that are going to be talked about while they play, this will help us give a creative evaluation as the use of visual aids with audio will give an effective evaluation because of the visual and hearing aids.
There have been and there will be many difficulties when making this creative evaluation, things such as loud environments and not having the time to record effectively is proving difficult to make sure we get the words into the evaluation. This will probably mean that me and Jai will have to stay after school some days to get it done as this is likely to be a quiet time when we can record, also coming into the media suite during our frees would be another option, however a lot of the time there could be a lesson, so there is no definite place for us to do some recording during our frees in the school day.
The poster and the magazine cover are now officially finished. However with the magazine cover it took some development to make sure it was completely finished, we thought we finished with it at one point, however we received feedback from teachers that parts of the magazine cover were quite empty, so we decided to introduce some pictures from another film and move some text around and re-size other texts to fill up space and make the magazine look even better. In the end to magazine looked a lot better before and we're happy with the end result of the ancillary texts.
Recently I've been doing more evaluation work and typing up the script of the evaluation so when I make the video and recordings for the evaluation it should be up to great standard.
I finished the script for the technology evaluation and I've begun writing the script up for the evaluation about the trailer, poster and magazine cover. This has been a difficult one to write about in comparison to the one about technology, with that one there was always a lot to write about the editing programmes and the different cameras and recording technology we were using. However with the trailer, poster and magazine cover evaluation I would have to write about how we made sure these three linked and how/why we did it which is proving to be difficult to get into words, however it's getting there and I should be done with it very soon.
The pictures we included in our magazine cover have been changed again to one that displays the actors instead of the characters, this time however we took a good picture that displays the actors in the film and it's worked out quite well and we've made a confirmation on the final image that we're going to use for our magazine and it's a great one.
The other day we decided to finally take the photos for our film magazine and poster, in the end we decided that it would be good to maybe add some digital photography to the poster as the pictures we took added the comical effect to the poster, as previously it did look a bit too serious.
When taking the photos for the magazine we had to think of what you normally see on the front of a magazine cover, so while Jai took photos of me and Umesh, we decided to break out of character and have fun while taking the photos. We did this because we thought it would be a good idea to show the actors of the movie and not necessarily the characters that in the movie, as we felt this is what the poster is meant to do. When taking the photos we did a lot of fun photos to try and get the best possible photo, however in the end we had nothing we could work with, so we decided to include a photo of me and Umesh with our backs turned and slightly looking behind us, so as you can see, we went back to the idea of showing our characters instead of just the actors. Using this photo shows the action genre of the film and makes it look more serious than comical, however in the poster we showed this comical side.
The digital pictures in the poster are one of me and one of Umesh posing on the floor with our guns. My character is near the red 'B' and Umesh's is near the blue 'U' as this is the first letters of our names, the picture looks comical as me and Umesh both look like idiots and makes it hard for anyone to take us seriously.
Me and Jai have begun work on our film poster and Jai has come up with some great drafts for how the poster should look. We've already included the fonts and titles for the poster and we know what pictures we need to take, we just now need to do it. We also looked at other action/comedy posters for inspiration of what to include in the poster, and this has been helpful in the decision making process.
Also we've begun work on the magazine and we've laid some things out for it, also we're looking at other magazine covers in our research to give us inspiration of what to include, and we've already come up with some ideas of what we should do.
Me and Jai both analysed film posters which can be considered to be for an action/comedy film. We're planning to use this to help break down what a typical action/comedy poster contains and then use this as inspiration when we make our own film poster.
